Wushishi Towns And Villages
Wushishi is a Local Government Area in Niger State, Nigeria, on the Kaduna-Niger confluence road roughly 45 kilometres northwest of Minna. Its headquarters sits at Wushishi town. The 2006 census counted 81,756 residents, projected to about 140,200 by 2022.
The LGA holds 12 wards: Akare, Barwa, Gwarjiko, Kanwuri, Kodo, Kwata, Lokogoma, Maito, Sabon Gari, Tukunji, Yamigi and Zungeru. Zungeru, on the Kaduna River, served as the colonial capital of the Northern Nigeria Protectorate from 1902 to 1916, before the seat moved to Lugard’s new capital, Kaduna.
