Ikole Towns And Villages

Ikole is a Local Government Area in Ekiti State, Nigeria, about 22.5 kilometres north of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. Its headquarters sits at Ikole town. The 2006 census counted 170,414 residents; the 2022 projection put the figure near 255,200.

Yoruba-speaking Ekiti people farm and trade across the area’s three traditional districts: Ikole, Ijesha-Isu and Oke-Ako, plus the Ikole West and Ifeloju council development areas around Usin and Ilupeju. The Itapaji Water Dam supplies the local government and draws visitors. Kwara, Kogi, Ekiti East, Gbonyin and Oye border Ikole.
