Haut-Lomami (French for “Upper Lomami”) is one of the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s 21 new provinces established by the 2015 repartitioning.
Haut-Lomami, Haut-Katanga, Lualaba, and Tanganyika provinces resulted from the breakup of the previous Katanga province.
Haut-Lomami was founded from the Haut-Lomami district, with Kamina serving as the new province’s seat.
