Pampierstad was established later as a resettlement township and has since outgrown both older towns in population.

The R380 links Hartswater and Jan Kempdorp to Warrenton and on to Kimberley, about 100 km to the southwest. The N18 also passes near Jan Kempdorp on its route between Kimberley and Vryburg. Kimberley Airport is the nearest air link, and most freight for the scheme’s farms and packhouses moves by road rather than rail.
