Wyoming County is a county in West Virginia, United States.

The population was 21,382 at the time of the 2020 census.

Pineville is the county seat.

The county was formed from Logan County in 1850 and named after the Lenape phrase for “large plains.”

The county has a total area of 502 square miles (1,300 km2), of which 499 square miles (1,290 km2) is land and 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2) (0.5%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.

The county is drained by the Sandy and Guyandotte rivers’ branches. The terrain is mountainous.
