Wright County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
It is in the East Central part of the state. As of the census in 2020, there were 141,337 people living there.
Buffalo is the county seat.[3] In 1855, the county was made. Wright County is in the Metropolitan Statistical Area of Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, MN-WI.
Wright County has the tenth most people in Minnesota and is the fastest growing county.
The county was made in 1855 and named after a politician from New York, Silas Wright.
The county seat was first in Monticello, but in 1868, it was moved to Buffalo.
Most of the first people to live in the area were German or Swedish. In 1860, there were 3,729 people living in the county; in 1875, there were 13,775.
The US Census Bureau says that the county covers 714 square miles (1,850 km2), of which 661 square miles (1,710 km2) are land and 53 square miles (140 km2) are water, or 7.4% of the total area.
