Van Buren County is a county in Michigan, which is a state in the United States.
As of the 2020 Census, there were 75,587 people in the area.
Paw Paw is the county seat.
The county was started in 1829, and in 1837 it was put together.
Before Martin Van Buren became president, the county was named after him.
He was U.S. Secretary of State and then Vice President under President Andrew Jackson.
Van Buren is one of Michigan’s “Cabinet counties” because of this.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county is 1,090 square miles (2,800 km2) in size, with 607 square miles (1,570 km2) of land and 482 square miles (1,250 km2) of water, or 44%.
