The U.S. county of Washington is in the southeast corner of the state of Missouri.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 23,514 people living there.
Potosi is the county seat and the biggest city.[2] The county was made official on August 21, 1813.
It was named after George Washington, the first President of the United States, in his honour.
The county has a total area of 762 square miles (1,970 km2), of which 760 square miles (2,000 km2) are land and 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2) (0.3%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
