It is pronounced /traevrs/ TRAV-rss.
As of the 2020 census, there were 3,360 people living there.
This made it the county with the fewest people in all of Minnesota.
Wheaton is the county seat.
The county was started in 1862, and in 1881 it was put together.
The county covers 586 square miles (1,520 km2), 574 square miles (1,490 km2) of which are land and 12 square miles (31 km2) of which are water, or 2%.
