Iuka is the county seat.
The county has a total area of 445 square miles (1,150 km2), of which 424 square miles (1,100 km2) is land and 20 square miles (52 km2) (4.6%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
The county contains Woodall Mountain, Mississippi’s highest natural point at 806 feet (246 metres). Tishomingo County is the only county in Mississippi with natural limestone outcroppings.
