Taylor County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 26,023 people living there.Campbellsville is the county seat.
After the American Revolutionary War, people from Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and North Carolina moved there.
The county was set up in 1848 in the Highland Rim area.
It is named after US Army General Zachary Taylor, who later became US President.
Kentucky made 120 counties, and Taylor County was the 100th one. Taylor County is all part of the Campbellsville Micropolitan Statistical Area.
The US Census Bureau says that the county covers 277 square miles (720 km2), of which 266 square miles (690 km2) are land and 10 square miles (26 km2) are water, or 3.8%.
