Robeson County is the largest county in North Carolina by land area.
It is in the southern part of the state. Lumberton is the county seat and biggest city.
The county was made in 1787 from a part of Bladen County.
It was named after Thomas Robeson, a colonel who led Patriot forces in the area during the Revolutionary War.
As of the 2020 census, there were 116,530 people living in the county.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that Robeson County has a land area of 947.3 square miles (2,453 km2).
It has the most land area of any county in North Carolina.
