George Robertson was a member of Congress from Kentucky from 1817 to 1821.
The county is named after him. It has the fewest people and the smallest amount of land in all of Kentucky.
On February 11, 1867, parts of Bracken County, Harrison County, Mason County, and Nicholas County were taken and put together to make Robertson County.
It was named after Judge and Congressman George Robertson.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county covers 100 square miles (260 km2), of which 100 square miles (260 km2) are land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) (2% of the total area) are water.
It has the least amount of land of any county in Kentucky.
