Red Lake County is a county in the northwest of the state of Minnesota in the United States.

As of the 2020 census, there were 3,935 people living there.

This made it the third-least populated county in Minnesota. Red Lake Falls is the county seat.

On December 24, 1896, parts of Polk County were split off to make Red Lake County. The Red Lake River gave it its name.

Red Lake Falls, which had been made a village in 1881, was chosen to be the county seat.

The county’s courthouse and the Clearwater Evangelical Lutheran Church are both on the National Register of Historic Places.

The county covers a total area of 432 square miles (1,120 km2), of which 432 square miles (1,120 km2) are land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 km2) (0.02%) are water.
