Reagan County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. It is on the Edwards Plateau.
As of the census in 2020, there were 3,385 people living there.
Big Lake is the county seat.[2] John Henninger Reagan (1818–1905) was the postmaster general of the Confederate States, a U.S. senator, a U.S. representative, and the first chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas. The county is named after him.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 1,176 square miles (3,050 km2), of which 1,175 square miles (3,040 km2) are land and 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2) (0.06%) are water.
Most of the county is built on top of the Spraberry Trend, which is the third-largest oil field in the United States based on how much oil is still there.
