Queens is a borough of New York City in the U.S. state of New York. It is the same size as Queens County.
It is the largest borough of New York City in terms of land area. It is on Long Island.
At the western end of Long Island, it shares a border with the borough of Brooklyn, and Nassau County is to its east. Queens is connected to Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island by water.
The US Census Bureau says that Queens County covers a total area of 178 square miles (460 km2), of which 109 square miles (280 km2) are land and 70 square miles (180 km2) are water, or 39%.
