Pickett County is a county in the state of Tennessee in the United States.
As of the 2020 census, there were 5,001 people living there, making it the county with the fewest people in all of Tennessee.
Byrdstown is the county seat.
The city of Byrdstown in Tennessee and the town of Albany in Kentucky are between two Army Corps of Engineers lakes: Dale Hollow Lake, which is mostly in Tennessee, and Lake Cumberland, which is in Kentucky.
“Twin Lakes” is the name of the area, and “The Gateway to Dale Hollow Lake” is what Byrdstown is called.
Thousands of people take vacations at the many resorts along the lakes every year.
The county has a total area of 174 square miles (450 km2), of which 163 square miles (420 km2) are land and 12 square miles (31 km2) (6.6%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
