Okaloosa County is a part of the Metropolitan Statistical Area of Crestview-Fort Walton Beach-Destin, FL.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 1,082 square miles (2,800 km2), of which 930 square miles (2,400 km2) are land and 152 square miles (390 km2) (14%) are water.
