Muhlenberg County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States.

As of the census in 2020, there were 30,928 people living there.

Greenville is the county seat, and Central City is the biggest city.

In 1798, Logan County and Christian County were merged to make Muhlenberg County.Muhlenberg was Kentucky’s 34th county to be created.

General Peter Muhlenberg, a colonial general during the American Revolutionary War, was the inspiration for the name Muhlenberg.

The US Census Bureau says that the county is 479 square miles (1,240 km2) big, of which 467 square miles (1,210 km2) are land and 12 square miles (31 km2) are water, or 2.6%.
