McMullen County is a county in the state of Texas in the United States.
As of the 2020 census, there were 600 people living there.
This made it the fourth-least populated county in Texas.
Tilden is the county seat.
Parts of Bexar County, Atascosa County, and Live Oak County were used to make the county, which was made in 1858 and put together in 1877.
Its name comes from John McMullen, who started a settlement in Texas.
The builder W.C. Stephenson, who was born in Buffalo, New York, made the McMullen County Courthouse. Stephenson also planned about 50 buildings in Beeville, including the Bee County Courthouse.
The county has a total area of 1,157 square miles (3,000 km2), of which 1,137 square miles (2,940 km2) are land and 17 square miles (44 km2) (1.5%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
