McLean County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States.

As of the census in 2020, there were 9,152 people living there.Its county seat is Calhoun, and Livermore is its biggest city.

McLean is a “dry” or “no-alcohol” county.

The 2010 census found that 114,752 people lived in the Owensboro, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes McLean County.

On February 6, 1854, the Kentucky lawmakers made McLean County out of parts of the nearby counties of Daviess, Ohio, and Muhlenberg.

Judge Alney McLean started the town of Greenville, which is the county seat of Muhlenberg County. The county was named after him.

The county has a total area of 256 square miles (660 km2), of which 252 square miles (650 km2) are land and 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2) (1.5%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
