Marysville is the biggest city and county seat.
Marshall County is on the Oregon Trail. Sarah Keyes, who died on the trip, is still buried at Alcove Springs, which is outside of Marysville.
This is where the famous Donner Reed Party stopped to rest. Around Alcove Spring, there are a lot of known pioneer graves.
The county has a total area of 905 square miles (2,340 km2), of which 900 square miles (2,300 km2) are land and 4.9 square miles (13 km2) (0.5%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
