Lorain County is a county in the northeast of the state of Ohio in the United States.
As of the 2020 census, there were 312 964 people living there.
Its county seat is in Elyria, and Lorain is its biggest city.
The county was set up physically in 1822, and it got its own court system in 1824.
The Cleveland, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area includes Lorain County.
Oberlin College is in the county.
The US Census Bureau says that the county is 923 square miles (2,390 km2) big, of which 491 square miles (1,270 km2) are land and 432 square miles (1,120 km2) are water, or 47%.
It has the fourth-largest area of any county in Ohio.
