It is pronounced LIV-ing-ston.
As of the 2020 Census, there were 193,866 people living there.
It is in the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, MI Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Howell is the county seat and the city with the most people.
The county was laid out in 1833, but revenue, taxes, and court matters were handled by Shiawassee and Washtenaw counties for three years. It was officially set up in 1836.
The US Census Bureau says that the county covers 585 square miles (1,520 km2), of which 565 square miles (1,460 km2) are land and 20 square miles (52 km2) are water, or 3.4%.
