The county of Jerauld is in the American state of South Dakota.
As of the census in 2020, there were 1,663 people living there.
Wessington Springs is the county seat.
Wetmore County was made in 1873 from the area that is now Jerauld County.
In 1881, Wetmore County and Cragin County, which was to the south, were put together to make Aurora County.
In 1883, the area that used to be part of Wetmore County became what is now Jerauld County.
It was named after a politician named H. J. Jerauld.
Low, rolling hills make up most of Jerauld County’s landscape, which is mostly used for farming.
The land slopes to the south and east, with the highest point of the county, at 1,932 ft (589 m) ASL, on the west boundary line near the NW corner.
The county has a total area of 533 square miles (1,380 km2), of which 526 square miles (1,360 km2) are land and 6.4 square miles (17 km2) (1.2%) are water.
