Jack County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas.
It is in the north central part of the state.
As of the census in 2020, there were 8,472 people living there.
Jacksboro is the county seat.
The county was made in 1856, and the next year it was set up.
It is named after Patrick Churchill Jack and his brother William Houston Jack, who were both soldiers in the Texas Revolution.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 920 sq mi (2,400 km2), of which 911 sq mi (2,360 km2) are land and 9.5 sq mi (25 km2) (1%) are water.
