Irwin County is a county in Georgia, United States.
The population was 9,666 at the time of the 2020 census.
Ocilla is the county seat.
On December 15, 1818, the county was established.
It was named for Gov. Jared Irwin.
The county has a total area of 363 square miles (940 km2), of which 354 square miles (920 km2) is land and 8.4 square miles (22 km2) (2.3%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
The Alapaha River sub-basin of the Suwannee River basin contains the majority and entire central and western portion of Irwin County, which is bordered by a line extending southeast from Fitzgerald.
The Satilla River sub-basin of the St. Marys-Satilla River basin is located in the county’s eastern corner.
