Idaho County is the largest county in the U.S. state of Idaho in terms of land area.
As of the census in 2020, there were 16,541 people living there. Grangeville is the county seat.
Florence, which was the county seat from 1864 to 1868, Washington, which was the county seat from 1868 to 1975, and Mount Idaho (1875–1902).
The county has a total area of 8,503 square miles (22,020 km2), of which 8,477 square miles (21,960 km2) are land and 26 square miles (67 km2) (0.3%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
It has the most land area of any county in Idaho.
In the northwest corner of the county is the southeast part of the Nez Perce Indian Reservation. Because of its size, this county is the only one that goes into both Oregon and Montana.
