The county was made in 1876, but it wasn’t put together until 1901.
It is named after Andrew Hutchinson, a lawyer who lived in Texas in the early 1800s.
The Micropolitan Statistical Area of Borger, TX, which is part of Hutchinson County, is also part of the Amarillo-Borger, TX Combined Statistical Area.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 895 square miles (2,320 km2), of which 887 square miles (2,300 km2) are land and 7.5 square miles (19 km2) (0.8%) are water.
