Holt County is a county in the northwest of the state of Missouri in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 4,223 people living there.
Oregon is the county seat.
On February 15, 1841, the county was set up.
It was first called Nodaway County, but it was soon changed to honour David Rice Holt, a Missouri state legislator from Platte County who lived from 1803 to 1840.
The county has a total area of 470 square miles (1,200 km2), of which 463 square miles (1,200 km2) are land and 7.7 square miles (20 km2) (1.6%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
