Hemphill County is a county in the state of Texas in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 3,382 people living there.
The only city in the county is the city of Canadian, which is also the county centre.
The county was made in 1876, and in 1887 it was put together.
It is named after Judge and Confederate Congressman John Hemphill.
Hemphill County is one of the five counties in the state of Texas that still have a total ban on alcohol.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 912 sq mi (2,360 km2), of which 906 sq mi (2,350 km2) are land and 5.9 sq mi (15 km2) (0.6%) are water.
