Memphis is the county seat.
The county was made in 1876, and in 1890, it was put together.
It is named after Warren D. C. Hall, who was the Republic of Texas’ secretary of war.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 904 square miles (2,340 km2), of which 883 square miles (2,290 km2) are land and 21 square miles (54 km2) (3.8%) are water.
