South Dakota’s southern border is where Gregory County is. Its south border is right next to Nebraska’s north border.
Along its eastern border, the Missouri River flows southeast.
The county has rolling hills that slope toward the southeast.
In the county’s eastern part, there are gullies and drainages that lead to the river basin.
The highest point of the county is in the SW corner. It is 2,247 ft (685 m) above sea level.
