Graves County is a county in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is on the southwestern edge of the state.

As of the census in 2020, there were 36,649 people living there.

Mayfield is the county seat.

The county was made in 1824 and named after Major Benjamin Franklin Graves, a politician who died in the War of 1812.

The Paducah-Mayfield, KY-IL Combined Statistical Area includes the Mayfield, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is in Graves County.

The county has a total area of 557 square miles (1,440 km2), of which 552 square miles (1,430 km2) are land and 5.0 square miles (13 km2) (0.9%) are water, according to the US Census Bureau.
