The county of Eastland is in the middle of West Texas.
As of the census in 2020, there were 17,725 people living there.Eastland is the county seat.
The county was started in 1858, and in 1873 it was put together.
It is named after William Mosby Eastland, a soldier in the Texas Revolution who was the only officer to die in the “Black Bean executions” of the Mier Expedition.
Cisco and Ranger, which are both in Eastland County, have junior colleges.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 932 sq mi (2,410 km2), of which 5.4 sq mi (14 km2) (0.6%) are covered by water.
