Daviess County (pronounced “Davis”) is a county in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

As of the census in 2020, there were 103,312 people living there.

Owensboro is the county seat.

On January 14, 1815, the county was made from a part of Ohio County.

The Owensboro, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area has Daviess County as a part of it.

Daviess County also shares its name with a close county in Indiana called Daviess County.

Both Counties are in the Tri-State Area of Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.

The US Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 477 square miles (1,240 km2), of which 458 square miles (1,190 km2) are land and 18 square miles (47 km2) (3.8%) are water.
