Dallas County is a county in the state of Iowa in the United States.
At the time of the 2020 Census, there were 99,678 people living there.
This made it the seventh most populated county in Iowa.
From 2010 to 2020, it grew faster than any other county in Iowa and was one of the fastest-growing counties in the whole country.
Its county seat is Adel, and Waukee is its biggest city. George M. Dallas, who was Vice President of the United States under James K. Polk, whose name is on nearby Polk County, is honored by the name of the county.
The Des Moines–West Des Moines, IA Metropolitan Statistical Area has Dallas County as a part of it.
In a treaty made on October 11, 1842, the Sac and Fox people gave the United States the land that is now Dallas County.
The US Census Bureau says that the county is 592 square miles (1,530 km2) in size, with 588 square miles (1,520 km2) of land and 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2) of water (0.5%).
