Culberson County is a county in the state of Texas in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 2,188 people living there.Van Horn is the county seat.
Culberson County was made in 1911, and the next year it was put together.
It is named after a lawyer and Confederate soldier in the American Civil War named David B. Culberson.
Most of Culberson County is in the Central Time Zone, but the northwestern part of the county, where Guadalupe Mountains National Park is, is in the Mountain Time Zone.
This makes Culberson County one of the few counties in the United States that is split between two time zones.
It is one of the nine counties in West Texas that make up the Trans-Pecos region.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 3,813 square miles (9,880 km2), of which 3,813 square miles (9,880 km2) are land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) (0.01%) are water.
