Bucyrus is the county seat and biggest city.
The county was made in 1820, and in 1836 it was put together.
It was named after Colonel William Crawford, a soldier in the American Revolution.
The Bucyrus, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area is part of Crawford County.
It is also part of the Mansfield-Ashland-Bucyrus, OH Combined Statistical Area.
The county has a total area of 403 square miles (1,040 km2), of which 402 square miles (1,040 km2) are land and 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2) (0.2%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
It has the fourth-smallest area of any county in Ohio.
The Sandusky and Olentangy rivers drain the county.
