Coffee County is a county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is in the middle of the state.
As of the 2020 census, there were 57,889 people living in the county.
Manchester is the county seat.
The Tullahoma-Manchester, TN Micropolitan Statistical Area includes Coffee County.
It’s also a part of Middle Tennessee, which is one of the state’s three “Grand Divisions.”
In 1836, parts of Bedford, Warren, and Franklin counties were put together to make Coffee County.
It was named after a well-known planter, land trader, and militia officer named John Coffee.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 435 square miles (1,130 km2), of which 429 square miles (1,110 km2) are land and 5.6 square miles (15 km2) (1.3%) are water.
