Christian County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 72,748 people living there.
Hopkinsville is the county seat.In 1797, the county was made. The Clarksville, TN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area includes Christian County.
Colonel William Christian was born in Augusta County, Virginia, and fought in the Revolutionary War.
The county is named after him. In 1785, he moved to an area near Louisville, Kentucky. In 1786, Native Americans killed him in southern Indiana.
The US Census Bureau says that the county is 724 square miles (1,880 km2) in size, with 718 square miles (1,860 km2) of land and 6.5 square miles (17 km2) of water, or 0.9%.
It is the largest county in Western Kentucky and the second-largest county in Kentucky in terms of land size.
