Cass County is a county in the western part of Missouri that is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
The population was 107,824 according to the 2020 census.
The county seat is Harrisonville, but the county also includes a portion of Kansas City, Missouri.
Originally known as Van Buren County, it was renamed in 1849 after U.S. Senator Lewis Cass of Michigan, who later ran for president.
The county has a total area of 702 square miles (1,820 km2), of which 697 square miles (1,810 km2) is land and 5.7 square miles (15 km2) (0.8%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
