Carroll County is a county in the northern region of the United States state of Kentucky.
Carrollton is the county seat.
In 1838, the county was named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last living signer of the Declaration of Independence.
It is situated near the meeting point of the Kentucky and Ohio rivers.
The county has a total area of 137 square miles (350 km2), of which 129 square miles (330 km2) is land and 8.7 square miles (23 km2) (6.4%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
It is Kentucky’s third-smallest county in terms of land area.
