Carlisle County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States.
At the time of the 2020 census, there were 4,826 people living there.
This made it the fourth-least populated county in Kentucky. Bardwell is the county seat.
The county was created in 1886 and named after John Griffin Carlisle, who was the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from Kentucky.
It is still a dry or prohibition county.
The county has a total area of 199 square miles (520 km2), of which 189 square miles (490 km2) are land and 9.5 square miles (25 km2) are water, or 4.8%.
The Missouri side of the county is on the western side of the Mississippi River.
