Cameron Parish is a parish in the southwest corner of the U.S. state of Louisiana.
In French, it is called Paroisse de Cameron.
As of the census in 2020, there were 5,617 people living there. Cameron is the center of the parish.
Even though it covers the most land, it has the second-smallest population in Louisiana, behind only Tensas. Cameron Parish is in the same statistical area as Lake Charles.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the parish has a total area of 1,937 square miles (5,020 km2), of which 1,285 square miles (3,330 km2) are land and 652 square miles (1,690 km2) are water, or 34%.
It has the third-largest land area and the fourth-largest total area of any parish in Louisiana. Most of the water in the Gulf of Mexico comes from marsh.
