The county of Caledonia is in the northeast of the U.S. state of Vermont.

As of the census in 2020, there were 30,233 people living there.

Its county centre, or “shire town,” is the town of St. Johnsbury.

The county was made in 1792, and in 1796 it was put together.

It was given the Latin name for Scotland to honour the many people who moved there and said they were from Scotland.

The county has a total area of 658 square miles (1,700 km2), of which 649 square miles (1,680 km2) are land and 8.7 square miles (23 km2) (1.3%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
