The county seat is Siren, and most of the county government services are housed at the Burnett County Government Center.
The county was made in 1856 and put together in 1865.
The St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin have land reservations in Burnett County and hire the most people in the county.
The county covers 880 square miles (2,300 km2), with 872 square miles (2,260 km2) of land and 58 square miles (150 km2) (6.6%) of water.
The county has Saginaw Lake, which is south of the Namekagon River
