Bland County is a county in the southwestern part of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Bland, which is not a city, is the county seat.
At the 2020 census, there were 6,270 people living there.
In Virginia, parts of Wythe, Tazewell, and Giles counties were taken to make Bland County in 1861.
Richard Bland was a politician in Virginia who served in both the House of Burgesses and the Continental Congress.
The new county was named after him.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 358.7 square miles (929.0 km2), of which 357.7 square miles (926.4 km2) are land and 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2) (0.3%) are water.
