Bamberg County is a county in the southwestern part of the United States state of South Carolina.
The population was 13,311, according to the 2020 census, making the rural county the fourth-least populous in South Carolina. Bamberg is its county seat.
Voorhees College, a historically black college, was founded here in the late 1800s. It was long associated with the Episcopal Church (United States).
The county has a total area of 396 square miles (1,030 km2), of which 393 square miles (1,020 km2) is land and 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2) (0.6%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
It is South Carolina’s fourth-smallest county by land area and third-smallest by total area.
