Asotin County is a county in the far southeast part of the U.S. state of Washington.
As of the census in 2020, there were 22,285 people living there.
The county seat is in Asotin, and Clarkston is its biggest city.
In 1883, the county was made out of Garfield County. Its name comes from a Nez Perce word that means “Eel Creek.”
Asotin County is in the Lewiston–Clarkston urban area, which also includes Idaho’s Nez Perce County.
The US Census Bureau says that the county is 641 square miles (1,660 km2) big, with 636 square miles (1,650 km2) of land and 4.4 square miles (11 km2) of water, or 0.7%.
